Amazon Web Services and Google Cloud have unveiled a joint multicloud networking solution, dramatically reducing private connection setup times from weeks to minutes. The collaboration follows a costly October AWS outage that disrupted major platforms like Snapchat and Reddit, with estimated U.S. business losses reaching $650 million.

Salesforce has already adopted the new infrastructure, which bridges AWS's $33 billion cloud ecosystem with Google's $15.16 billion platform. The service addresses critical reliability demands in cloud computing, where minutes of downtime now translate to eight-figure losses for enterprise users.
